- Provide managerial and administrative support to the Chief Human Resources Officer, evaluating and recommending improvements to current firm policies and procedures.
- Lead firmwide recruiting, hiring, development, and retention programs in compliance with state/federal regulations and employment law practices.
- Determine staffing needs for the firm, maintaining benchmarked staffing ratios and trends. Oversee nonexempt personnel to ensure adherence to firm expectations.
- Oversee employee relations and resolution of employment conflicts, working to ensure a positive work environment.
- Collaborate with firm personnel to handle requests for leaves of absence, ensuring compliance with firm policies.
- Coordinate with the Chief Human Resources Officer and Payroll and Benefits Coordinator on all firm benefit plans, including the 401(k)/Profit Sharing Plan.
- Ensure the firm has updated standard job descriptions for support staff and conduct timely reviews of job descriptions and position specifications.
- Keep Firm Managing Partners and Chief Human Resources Officer informed of HR matters, and assist with reports and financial analysis as requested.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the Chief Human Resources Officer or Firm Managing Partners.
- Bachelor's degree in human resource management or a related field, or equivalent training through additional work experience.
- Approximately 4+ years of progressively responsible work experience, preferably in legal or other professional service organizations.
- Ability to identify and analyze complex issues, recommending and implementing effective solutions.
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate and maintain effective relationships with partners, attorneys, and staff.
- Broad knowledge of law firm services, policies, and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of computer software, including Microsoft.
