Job Title: Medical Dosimetrist

Job Summary:

Medical dosimetrists work as team members in managing cancer patients undergoing radiation treatments. They integrate clinical information from radiation oncologists to design optimal treatment strategies and ensure their delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Collect and analyze patient data, working with radiation oncologists to define target volumes and critical structures.

2. Design optimal treatment approaches, including dose calculation and planning using treatment planning software.

3. Participate in the implementation of new techniques and treatment modalities for radiation therapy.

4. Collaborate with physicists, physicians, therapists, nurses, and engineers to deliver high-quality patient care.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in physics or a related science major.

Certification by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB) and at least 4 years of practical planning experience.

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail in complex processes.

Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000 per year.
