    The MassHire Career Centers connect qualified job seekers with employers, providing tools and resources to start a career, increase skills, or find a new job. As a Career Advisor, you will create a supportive and enriching environment for our community.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Needs Analysis and Employment Plans: Develop needs analysis and employment plans, including goal setting.

    Information Gathering: Gather information through interviewing and observing individuals.

    Feedback and Objective Perspective: Provide feedback and an objective perspective as customers evaluate their options or make career transitions.

    Support and Referrals: Support customers through transitions, facilitate decision-making and goal setting, including referrals to partners, training, TRADE, Section 30, and ITA processes.

    Career Assessment Tools: Maintain knowledge of current career assessment tools; administer and interpret as appropriate.

    Labor Market Research: Research labor market issues and current workplace trends.

    Workshops and Presentations: Present a range of job search and career transition workshops.

    Customer Outreach: Inform customers about relevant services; follow up on previous services; determine success; update information; and offer additional services.

    Caseload Management: Maintain contact with a large caseload of customers via telephone, email, and personal appointments.

    Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise:

    A minimum of High School Degree or GED and at least three years of customer service or relevant experience is required.

    An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in human services, public administration, business management, or a related field is preferred but not required.

    At least two years of experience working in a career center, providing services to businesses, or related experience is preferred but not required.

    Knowledge of WIOA, TRADE, RESEA, and other Career Center Programs regulations, guidelines, and administrative requirements is preferred.

    Strong public speaking and presentation skills are essential.

    The ability to work sensitively with people from diverse backgrounds is required.
