    Classification Title Student Assistant FLSA Non-Exempt UGA Job Code FTE .50 Minimum Qualifications Position Summary

    This is a laboratory assistant position in the Bacteriology section of a busy Veterinary Diagnostic Lab. The position will be responsible for duties associated primarily with laboratory maintenance. Additional work may include some administrative duties.

    Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position

    Prefer availability to work 4-hour continuous blocks of time.

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

    Attendance and punctuality are critical components to be successful in this position. Ability to work with secure data and maintain confidentiality. Computer skills will be necessary to complete the duties of the job. Ability to quickly learn and follow standard operating procedures in job duties. Excellent organization skills with great attention to detail are necessary also.

    Physical Demands

    Lift up to 40 pounds.

    Candidate will be available Monday - Friday with variable hours between 8am and 5pm; and be available to work during the summer.
