    Description

    Summary You will serve as an INVENTORY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in as the NAVSEA Managed Spares Lead, in the Nuclear Material Support Branch of PSNS and IMF.

    Duties * You will utilize computer based programs to maintain records and produce data for analysis and presentations to management.

    * You will utilize a thorough knowledge of material databases such as MRQT, RIMS, PEDREP, AIM, etc. used to process and identify status of material. * You will take authority, and with sound judgment, apply it to inventory management.

    * You will provide direction and oversight to warehouse personnel regarding inventory processes, material maintenance, quality assurance requirements, security, and conditions and hazardous material control requirements.

    * You will initiate requisitions for nationwide shipments of Naval Reactor Plant components and material to various activities including ships, Intermediate Maintenance activities and other shipyards and vendors.

    * You will provide information for the naval fleet and fleet activities concerning the availability of Naval Reactor Plant components and material.

    * You will analyze problems, research or collect data required, make decisions, or recommend action for resolution of a problem based on past experience and established guidelines.

    * You will provide recommended actions to assist in the resolution for complex project problems not covered in established procedures.

    * You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.

    Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

    * Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.

    * This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites.

    You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

    * You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

    Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.


    Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
    overseeing a nuclear material inventory program to ensure availability of components and materials for support of Fleet Readiness.

    This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. PPP applicants will be placed at the FPL, if determined Well Qualified (WQ). To receive priority consideration, the FPL must be the same grade level or equivalent of the retained grade or the grade held immediately prior to separation.
