    Description
    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
    • Maintains accurate, legible records of cheese location and quantity.
    • Complies with all company Safety, HACCP and GMP policies.
    • Immediately reports any food safety or quality issues to management or other individual authorized to initiate action.
    Wheel Production- Hooping:
    • Fills cheese wheel molds with cheese curd using packing equipment, monitoring cheese wheel size.
    • Stacks wheels horizontally onto cheese presses.
    • Flips 20 lb wheels in press to ensure proper wheel form.
    • Removes cheese from molds.
    • Maintains accurate wheel weights and counts.
    • Cleans and sanitizes production area and equipment.
    • Palletizes finished wheels and transfers cheese to other production areas using forklift.
    • Removes, washes and sanitizes hoops and lids.
    QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    18 years old, required.

    High school diploma or equivalency, preferred.

    OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
    • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
    • Basic computer skills, with proficiency operating Window's based software.
    • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of two, three and four digit numbers using units of weight measurement and counts.
    • Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills.
    • Ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
    • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
    • Ability to maintain legible accurate records.
    • Ability to work independently as well as on a team.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and a wet and humid environment. Temperatures regularly reach between 80-90 plus degrees. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

    PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIRED

    Personal protective equipment that is required when working with hazardous materials or loud equipment includes: safety goggles, rubber or latex gloves, lab coat and hearing protection.
