    GENERAL SUMMARY

    The Division of Women's Health at Brigham and Women's Hospital is seeking a programmer. They will be responsible for analytic programming for a varied set of epidemiological and clinical research analyses, including small and large observational studies, clinical trials, and big data analyses.

    PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBIITIES
    • Perform data cleaning and assess data for outliers and need for transformation
    • Conduct analytic/statistical programming in SAS for a varied set of epidemiologic analyses
    • Prepare tables for manuscripts
    • Write sections of manuscripts and/or, under the supervision of senior investigators, author entire manuscripts as first author
    • Other research programming-related duties as needed
    Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
    • Bachelor's degree and some experience working on similar projects in similar settings
    • Graduate-level coursework/research experience in epidemiology and biostatistics
    • Excel, SAS programming, and data analysis experience
    • Experience writing epidemiologic manuscripts in English
    SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
    • Excellent knowledge of computer programs, databases, etc., including SAS, Excel, Word
    • In-depth understanding of statistical methods
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Experience with writing methods sections of papers is a plus
    • Ability to work independently and as a team
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize a variety of tasks
    • Excellent interpersonal skills for working with statisticians and co-investigators
