    Senior Principal Supply Chain Subcontract Specialist (Band 4) (Category Management)


    Northrop Grumman is seeking an experienced and motivated professional for the role of a Senior Principal Supply Chain Subcontract Specialist (Band 4) with experiences in supply chain management, or related fields, to include business and financial planning, contracts administration, project management, logistics, or manufacturing.

    The successful applicant will become a part of Northrop Grumman's Category Management Team (CMT) within the Mission Systems Sector, which is engaged throughout all aspects of the core technologies used within our major systems.


    Responsibilities will encompass the full range of the subcontract acquisition process including preparation and execution of a mixed portfolio of subcontracts while ensuring compliance to company policies and procedures.

    The ideal candidate will understand the buyer and the seller roles in establishing mutually successful business arrangements, with experiences in work specifications and solicitations/bid packages, proposal evaluation, price and term negotiations, development of contractual documentation and post award administration.


    Candidates must be able to make sound decisions in a timely manner, display strong interpersonal skills, and have an agile perspective of compliance protocol mandated by regulated industry.


    Within the CMT organization the candidate will support a team-based organization and perform activities in a variety of cross-functional areas including but not limited to strategic analysis, complex negotiations, materials planning, procurement execution/award, finance, and internal customer service.

    Ideal candidates are generally experienced in one or more areas of the procurement or contractual function(s), developing business relationships, and demonstrating an affinity for working with, or understanding both manufacturing and technology.


    This position is responsible for executing major procurement activities and providing contractual support and documentation to suppliers in support of proposals and programs.

    This position is hybrid out of Linthicum, MD.


    Band 4 Basic Qualifications:
    A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria.

    10+ years of supply chain, procurement, business management and/or related experience with a Bachelor's Degree; 8+ years of supply chain, procurement, business management and/or related with a Master's Degree

    Strong verbal and written communication skills

    Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking and innovative behaviors in past projects, roles, or experiences

    Proficiency in MS Office suite


    Band 4 Preferred Qualifications:
    Demonstrated strong leadership skills as well as the ability to multi-task in a challenging environment

    Professional experience in a regulated industry; to include Aerospace & Defense, Insurance, Financial Services, Telecommunications

    SAP experience

    Knowledge of FAR/DFAR

    Demonstrated experience with multiple contracting formats, including Firm Fixed Price and/or Cost Reimbursable

    Familiarity with terms and conditions, and/or special contract clauses/types such as: long term agreements and intellectual property agreements.

    Demonstrated negotiation experience


    Salary Range:
    $99,900 - $157,300


    The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

    Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.

    In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
