    Job Description

    The Infection Control Nurse position requires orienting/training new employees and providing continuing education as needed. This role also oversees infection control for the community.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist with state and federally required in-service training
    • Provide in-servicing related to infection control
    • Establish and maintain core competencies specific to infection control
    • Perform Infection Control Facility (ICF) surveillance and Immunizations
    • Prepare and report findings of Infection Control to QAPI Meetings
    • Manage and implement Infection Control Program through monthly surveillance
    • Supervise outbreak management as needed

    Qualifications

    • Current unrestricted license to practice as a Nurse
    • Certified in Infection Prevention and Control
    • Experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing preferred but not required
    • Background/training in infection control preferred
