    Contract: 3-6 months with extension possible
    Hybrid: 3-4 days onsite
    Local Candidates Only - Richmond, VA

     Techead has partnered with a local commercial construction and real estate client to help them hire a Data Architect. In this role you will be responsible for designing and implementing data models and managing cloud data environments, as well as leading and mentoring others.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Design and implement logical and physical data models to support business requirements.
    • Develop and maintain database schemas, tables, and relationships.
    • Define and manage metadata to provide a comprehensive view of data assets.
    • Maintain architecture supporting data privacy regulations and best practices.
    • Management of Cloud Data Environments in compliance with overall IT Cloud infrastructure guidelines
    • Oversee the implementation and management of databases, ensuring data integrity, security, and performance.
    • Optimize database structures and queries for maximum efficiency.
    • Monitor and optimize database performance and cost to meet the business strategic growth
    • Stay current with emerging technologies and evaluate their potential for adoption in the organization's data architecture.
    • Understand data integration solutions to enable seamless flow of data across different systems and platforms.
    • Analyze complex problems and devise innovative solutions for data-related challenges.
    • Make informed decisions based on data requirements, business needs, and technological constraints.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data architecture and database systems.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, data scientists, and IT teams, to understand data requirements and implement solutions.
    • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Facilitate meetings to gather requirements and align stakeholders on data strategies.
    • Advocate for data management best practices including data consistency, availability, quality and governance
    • Develop and communicate a clear vision for the organization's data architecture.
    • Mentorship and coaching of other(s) around historical processes, existing data services and practices

    Technical Experience Required:
    • SQL/Azure SQL
    • Python
    • 5+ Data Architecture experience
    • 7-10 years experience in IT

    • Experience with Snowflake preferred
