- Install, maintain, or repair life safety systems, alarm devices, or related equipment, following electrical layouts and building plans
- Test backup batteries, VESDA systems, life safety system functions, or other electronic features to ensure proper functioning
- Perform repairs and inspections on fire detection systems
- Troubleshoot and repair circuits, following wiring and system specifications
- Provide fire system related training for the facilities maintenance team
- Optimize Fire Protection Systems Preventative Maintenance plans
- Create situational reports for critical equipment and develop procedures
- Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and end users for code compliant solutions
- Assist in developing and maintaining facilities-related process documents
- Escort contractors within the Restricted Area
- Assist organizational leadership with tasks
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
- Fire Alarm equipment testing and repair experience
- Hold relevant certifications and licenses, specifically NICET II
- Thorough understanding of NFPA standards/codes
- Ability to work on ladders and scaffolding
- Able to work in confined spaces
- Work independently and in a team environment
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs
- Must have or obtain a DoD Secret security clearance
- Familiarity with Siemens Desigo, Siemens Insight, and Eaton Foreseer
- Experience with Government customers
- Project Management experience
- Colorado Electrical License or equivalent
- Understanding of United Facilities Criteria (UFC)
- OSHA 30 training/certification
- Supervisory experience

The Facilities Fire Protection and Controls Technician supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will:
This position can be filled at Schriever SFB, Colorado Springs, CO.
This position offers a salary range of $86,500 - $111,500 annually, depending on experience, education, and certifications related to the position.
