    THE WORK
    The role is designated for a Senior Component Engineer who will support the RMS Owego Mechanical and Electrical design teams


    Responsibilities include:

    • Collaborating with team members and Electrical/Mechanical Engineers to select and approve components for designs.
    • Offering design recommendations and improvements to fulfill or surpass requirements.
    • Researching components to verify technical specifications align with program needs, confirming vendor supply capabilities, and integrating them into the component database.
    • Approving and recommending standard or suitable components, leveraging expertise.
    • Partnering with Electrical and Mechanical Engineers to create, revise, and release Source Control Drawings (SCD) and Vendor Item Drawings (VID) within EPDM.
    • Assisting Program Managers and Team Leads during internal and external meetings and teleconferences regarding componentrelated issues.
    • Engaging with suppliers to define requirements and specifications for SCDs and VIDs.
    • Reviewing supplier test procedures and reports, providing feedback and approval. Additionally, evaluating designs for endoflife (EOL) components and manufacturing defects reported in the Government-Industry Data Exchange Program (GIDEP), and suggesting solutions.

    Must be able to communicate at the technical level with other internal and external team members.
    Previous experience as a Component Engineer, including electrical and or mechanical components.

    Basic Qualifications:

    Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience
    Experience in in components used in electronic assemblies (resistors, capacitors, connectors, microcircuits)
    Must have ability to obtain a Secret clearance

    Desired Skills:

    Experience in electrical and/or mechanical design/drafting and component symbol creation for Creo, Zuken CR8000 and or Zuken E3
    Knowledge and experience in use of Windchill /EPDM, component selection, and mechanical design
    Experience selecting electrical/mechanical parts for unique applications
    Knowledge resolving End of Life (EOL) issues for components (resistors, capacitors, microcircuits etc.)
    Understanding of the Government-Industry Data Exchange Program (GIDEP)
    Proficient with Parts Selection and Approval Process (Parts Standardization)
    Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills

    Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

    Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

    Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

    Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

    Pay Rate:


    The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $82,200 - $157,500 .

    Non-represented full-time employees:

    accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays.

    Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays.

    PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

    This position is incentive plan eligible.

    Pay Rate:


    The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $94,500 - $178,000.
