    The Coordinator of Member Services has an exciting opportunity to incorporate the re-imagined Member Services unit into all aspects of Recreational Sports.

    This position includes the supervision of a student program assistant and up to 30 hourly staff members at various locations on campus including Bill Garrett Fieldhouse (BGF), Student Recreational Sports Center (SRSC), and the Indiana University Outdoor Pool (IUOP).

    Upholds Campus Recreational Sports standards of relational service by interacting with participants, listening, and responding to suggestions, provides feedback to student personnel and makes relational service an emphasis at all student personnel meetings.

    Staff management and development Ensures all hourly staff areas are covered during all hours of facility operation, including nights and weekends.

    Conducts formal staff assessment process twice per semester. Ensures staff are current with all Campus Recreational Sports Risk Management (RM) trainings. Assists with the implementation of the RS membership management plan to increase membership sales and retention. Coordinates the ordering, packaging, and distribution of staff uniform kits for RS hourly staff members. Works closely with all Recreational Sports service and program units to enhance and deliver services and programs. Participates in a rotating professional staff on-site staff schedule during mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends throughout the year. Assists the Assistant Director of Member Services with goal setting, execution, and reporting.

    Assists with and represent Recreational Sports at a variety of internal and external events including orientation, faculty/staff orientation and other events as assigned.

    Collaborates with all Office of Student Life and other departments across campus. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Member Services. Evaluates recreation areas, equipment, facilities, and services to determine if they are producing desired results. Directs the design, implementation, evaluation, and expansion of recreational programming. Ensures compliance by implementing the established risk management plan, monitoring and training, and conducting inspections of facilities and equipment. Education beyond the minimum required may be substituted for work experience. Work experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted for education.

    Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Recreation, Sports Management, or related field Master's degree in Exercise Science, Recreation, Sports Management, or related field WORK EXPERIENCE 2 years related experience with structured recreational programming ~ Previous experience in higher education or as a graduate assistant in recreational sports is desirable ~ Experience and passion for student development and hiring, managing, scheduling and training student staff ~ Experience working with student employees, student organizations and event planning in a collegiate setting, as well as program evaluation and training development Demonstrates a high commitment to quality It requires the ability to move and transport objects and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
