    Pro Tem Sleep Technician

    The Center for Translational Neuroscience (CTN) is a research center within the Department of Psychology at the University of Oregon. The mission of CTN is to translate knowledge from basic neuroscience and apply it to improve well-being, promote resilience, and mitigate the effects of early adverse experiences.

    This position will work closely with participants in an observational study and randomized controlled trial examining the impact of sleep and circadian rhythms on reward- and stress-related brain function and mental health in adolescents and young adults. The technician will run overnight visits in the Oregon Sleep Lab, applying and removing equipment, monitoring signals, and promoting participant safety and comfort.

    The successful candidate must have one year of experience or education in a field related to the position, such as the sciences or research. They must also be able to handle sensitive information appropriately, possess strong customer service skills, and demonstrate attention to detail and organizational skills.

    Additional responsibilities may include scoring PSG/EEG data using laboratory software, dependent on technician training. Technicians will be assigned consistent days for overnight shifts and are expected to commit to the position through June 2024 at a minimum.
