Position Overview

The Associate Attorney will support the firm's real estate practice with an emphasis on corporate clients, assisting in-house legal teams and business units by drafting and negotiating brokerage, license, and vendor agreements. The role also involves managing commercial lease reviews and negotiations, and handling the full life cycle of residential closings.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Corporate Client & Contract Support

· Draft, review, and negotiate brokerage, commission, listing, and vendor agreements, purchase orders, as well as property-related license agreements. Preparation of post-closing binders.

· Collaborate with in-house counsel and business units of corporate clients to ensure alignment with company policies, risk tolerance, and strategic goals.

· Maintain organized contract versions, redlines, and summaries for internal and client reference.

· Support contract lifecycle management and assist with updates to templates and agreement trackers.

Commercial Leasing

· Review, redline, and negotiate retail, office, and industrial lease agreements, as well as amendments, extensions, and landlord/tenant correspondence.

· Summarize lease terms, critical dates, and key risk factors for client review.

· Draft estoppels, SNDAs, and ancillary leasing documents under supervision.

Residential Closings

· Manage the full life cycle of residential real estate transactions, including drafting and reviewing closing documents, coordinating title and closing processes, and preparing settlement statements.

· Communicate directly with realtors, lenders and clients to ensure smooth and timely closings.

· Conduct final document reviews, ensure accuracy of closing packages, and manage post-closing tasks.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

· Critical attention to detail in drafting and reviewing contracts, title documents, and closing materials to ensure accuracy and compliance.

· Excellent legal research, drafting, and analytical skills, with the ability to review and redline complex real estate contracts and documents with precision.

· Strong organizational and time management abilities, including tracking multiple transactions, deadlines, and counterpart communications simultaneously.

· Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare correspondence, summaries, and client updates.

· Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively with counterparties and stakeholders while maintaining professionalism and advancing client interests.

· Knowledge of real estate transaction processes, including brokerage agreements, leases, title/survey review, and residential closing procedures.

· Familiarity with transactional tools and systems, such as closing checklists, data rooms, title/escrow portals, and document management software.

· Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Adobe/PDF tools, and case or contract management software, with the ability to work efficiently in a remote or hybrid setting.

· Collaborative work style and client-service mindset, including responsiveness, reliability, and accountability for deliverables.

· Practical problem-solving and sound judgment, with a willingness to ask clarifying questions early and propose constructive solutions.

· Professional demeanor and ability to build rapport with clients, counterparties, and team members across diverse real estate and business contexts.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

· J.D. from an accredited law school.

· Active membership with the Florida Bar.

· Prior experience in real estate law required.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

· Extended periods at a computer; periodic travel for closings, client meetings and business development initiatives.

· Availability during critical closing windows.

· Clear verbal and written communication skills for client interactions.

· Ability to communicate effectively over the phone and via video conferencing.

Growth and Advancement

Within the first one to two years, the Associate Attorney can expect to assume increasing responsibility for independent drafting, client communications, and the management of larger matters. The firm provides ongoing mentorship and structured training to deepen expertise in commercial and residential real estate law, while offering exposure to business development initiatives and direct client engagement. This position offers a clear and attainable progression toward a Senior Associate/Junior Partner role, based on demonstrated performance, professional growth, and client impact.
