    Job Title: Audio-Visual Design Technician

    Position Summary:

    The Audio-Visual Design Technician will apply technical skills to design audio-visual systems on multiple projects. This involves working with other design disciplines internally and externally to develop engineering solutions for clients. The Audio-Visual Design Technician will ensure timely project plan deliverables are prepared cost-effectively in accordance with company standards. This role utilizes BIM/CAD software.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Assist with engineering design and coordinate with other design staff for construction document and specification production.
    • Complete design tasks for associated design projects, including design, drafting, calculations, and cost estimating.
    • Assist with design computations.
    • Use experience, education, and judgment to make informed decisions, retaining knowledge and building on previous experiences to increase capabilities in breadth and complexity.
    • Organize multiple projects and tasks, completing them in a timely manner, on schedule, and per company standards.
    • Organize project information and drawing files according to corporate standard practices and workflows.
      • Effectively communicate and coordinate with the Design Team to complete design tasks on numerous projects.
        • Review project deliverables for compliance with design checklists and drafting standards.
        • Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the discretion of the company.

      Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

      • Ability to work independently and with others.
      • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
      • Strong work ethic.
      • Experience with using industry-accepted software, including AutoDesk Revit, AutoDesk AutoCAD, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, Bluebeam Revu, AFMG EASE, and AFMG EASERA.
      • Experience with codes and regulations, interpreting plans, and design of discipline-specific project components, including Access Control, Intrusion Detection, Closed-Circuit Television System Design (Security), Audio-Visual System Design, Public Address and Paging System Design, Telecommunications Cabling Design, Outside Plant (OSP) Cabling Design, Wi-Fi Network Design, Fire Alarm System Design, Nurse Call System Design, Distributed Antenna systems Design, and Conduit and Pathway for Technology System Design.

      Education and Experience:

      • Obtain or currently working towards a certificate or degree providing training in CAD software or relevant experience.

      License and Certification:

      • Certificate in CAD software is preferred.

      Work Environment:

The position requires mobility, and duties involve moving materials that weigh up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 25 pounds occasionally. Manual dexterity and coordination are required over 50% of the work period while operating equipment such as computer keyboards, mice, calculators, and similar items. At times, bending, reaching, standing, and walking may be required.
