    Controls Engineer

    Pay: $70,000/yr - $100,000/yr based on experience and qualifications

    Shift: 1stshift

    Location: Muskegon, MI

    Fully commissioned

    Job Description:


    •Analyzes project requirements and performs technical calculations supporting design including electrical controls, motors, pneumatics, and safety standards.


    •Supports the design of customized electrical solutions including manufacturing automation and safety systems.


    •Architects' programs that are simple to test, well documented and versatile.


    •Creates engineering documentation to support sales, product design, and manufacturing including assemblies, specifications, wiring diagrams, and support manuals.


    •Manages the design, installation, and testing of electrical equipment and automation integration.


    •Coordinates with production to provide detailed drawings, bills of materials and routings to ensure on-time delivery of make-to-order conveyor controls.


    •Provides hands-on mechanical support, as needed, in the R&D and manufacturing departments.


    •Works with outside suppliers and manufacturing to ensure successful implementation.


    •Provides technical assistance and field support to the sales department.


    •Maintains a clean and safe working environment according to company policy.


    •Performs other duties as assigned and assists other employees of the company whenever possible.

    Qualifications:


    •Ability to proficiently program PLCs, HMIs, VFD's, and servos


    •Ability to proficiently operate Autodesk AutoCAD (2D) and AutoCAD Electrical software.


    •Ability to proficiently utilize word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs within a Windows environment.


    •Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


    •Good communication skills with the ability to converse professionally.


    •Self-directed with the ability to organize and follow through on work assignments/duties.


    •Quality control mindset with the ability to monitor all work for accuracy.


    •Willingness to travel overnight occasionally, during the week.


    •Certificate in Electrical Technologies or equivalent work experience


    •Knowledge of basic ladder logic programming (Required)


    •Knowledge of structured text programming & industrial networking (Strongly Preferred)
