- B.S./B.A. Degree in economics, mathematics, statistics, computer science, finance, engineering, or related field.

- Data Scientist I: 0-2 years in a data analytics role using mathematical and/or machine learning techniques.
- Data Scientist II: years in a data analytics role using mathematical and/or machine learning techniques.
- Data Scientist III: years in a data analytics role using mathematical and/or machine learning techniques.
- Preferred: 1+ years of programming or forecasting experience with analytical tools such as SAS, SPSS, R, Python, Matlab, Java, etc.
- Preferred: 1+ years programming/forecasting experience in the electric and/or gas utility sector.
- Ability to coach and train others in developing analytical insights.
- Familiarity with vendor-provided analytical solutions in the utility sector.

Job Summary
The data scientist will support the company's growing analytical needs as data collection efforts expand and new use cases are identified. The main responsibilities include enhancing current analytical techniques through collaboration with business units, developing and deploying advanced analytical methods and software to extract more value from company-held data, and helping to broaden the company's analytical knowledge base. Analysis results will be shared within Entergy to support ongoing initiatives that have analytical requirements affecting Entergy's generation assets, resources, customer perspective, and products/services.
