Supervises Information Systems Specialists in the installation, inspection, and maintenance of communications, patient entertainment, personal computer equipment, networks, and systems.
Assigns duties and follows up to inspect quality of work including the proper use of procedures and materials, and adherence to a variety of local building codes and other standards.
Ensures that employees work in a safe and efficient manner. Routinely works along with staff and provides advice and assistance in completing the most difficult assignments. Interacts regularly with supervisors and skilled trades' employees, contractors, patients and members of hospital administration.Job Responsibilities
Ensures that Information Systems Specialists are provided with proper information and materials about assignments to complete work activities in a high quality and timely fashion.
Develops material and labor cost estimates for corrective/maintenance work orders, preventative maintenance activities and/or systems and construction projects and establishes employee work schedules and assignment; procures materials; reviews and provides documentation of work progress and results (I.e., maintains database and develops performance measurement tools).
Assists in establishing budgets and plans and coordinates equipment and system acquisitions and participates in meetings and conducts various administrative duties.
Routinely interacts with client personnel to coordinate work and communicate project purpose, length and potential disruptions and other conditions and orients, trains and develops employees.
Investigates and responds to customer complaints about employee and/or service quality. When necessary, recommends disciplinary action and participates in the communication process.
Uses office equipment and computer appropriately; knows when and how to use office equipment to perform the job in an efficient, effective and safe manner and maintains and contributes to a safe work environment while adhering to all safety policies, procedures and practices.
