SUMMARY:
The Java Engineer role plays a pivotal role in the IT Department.

Reporting to the Chief Architect, this position is responsible for the design and development of enterprise grade, high-volume web applications platforms and state of the art technical solutions leveraging Java and JEE platform technologies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design, develop, and implement Java-based applications and software solutions.
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and specifications.
Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices and coding standards.
Conduct code reviews, debug issues, and troubleshoot problems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

Work closely with QA engineers to develop and execute comprehensive test plans; contribute to the evaluation, prototyping and selection of software solutions.

Participate in agile development methodologies, including sprint planning, stand-up meetings, and retrospectives.
Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in Java development.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Certification in Java programming or related technologies is a plus.

Minimum of 3-5 years proven experience as a Java Developer or Java Engineer, with a strong understanding of Java programming language fundamentals.

SKILLS AND COMPETENTCIES:
Proficiency in Java frameworks and libraries such as Spring, Hibernate, or similar.
Experience with web application development using technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AJAX.
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
Knowledge of relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and SQL query writing.
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN) and build tools (e.g., Maven, Gradle).
Deep understanding of REST and SOAP/XML APIs
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
