    Description
    The Sales Manager position will be tasked with developing and leading our team's sales efforts.

    In addition to leading our team internally, this position will be required to build relationships with OEMs and subcontractors new to CDM and enhance the existing customer base, to drive incremental and additional sales of our distribution and value-added services.

    This position requires exercising independent judgment to perform the responsibilities described herein. The candidate must also identify new opportunities that align with CDM's core products and capabilities.
    Job Responsibilities

    Recruit, hire and train sales team.
    Set sales goals, compare performance to goals, and adjust goals as needed.
    Assess current team processes and procedures, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement them.
    Develop individual quotas and assign territories for team members.
    Provide detailed and accurate forecasts, as well as an annual sales expense budget.
    Coach, mentor and provide feedback to team members.
    Foster a competitive yet collaborative team environment.
    Assess individual performance through observation and measurement, and suggest corrective actions as needed.

    National travel to accounts both independently and with other CDM sales team members to support applications of distribution products as well as custom cable assemblies, wiring harnesses and electromechanical/box builds.

    Attend, and when required exhibit at, related trade shows that target OEMs and subcontractors.
    Collaborate with internal product support team where needed:

    Strategize on pricing, lead-time, and technical requirements for key opportunities.
    Coordinate training for sales team members for new and existing product lines.
    Foster strong, positive working relationship between sales and product departments.

    Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


    Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field or 5-8 years of sales experience in the electronic connector and wire harness industry.

    Experience developing vendor business relationships with OEMs and subcontractors.
    Strong oral and written communication skills.
    Excellent leadership skills.
    Very knowledgeable in the electronics field.
    Strong presentation, organizational and time management skills.
    Proficient in the use of MS Office.
    Exceptional interpersonal skills.
    Technical skills; be able to suggest application solutions.
