    The Donor Care Coordinator is a key member of the Donor Services Department, within the Development Team, responsible for coordinating donor care initiatives and retention strategies.

    This role is instrumental in engaging unassigned donors, integrating them into our donor community, and ensuring their interactions with the organization are impactful and meaningful.

    The coordinator will support efforts to engage supporters through planning and implementing strategic communication, supporting broader development initiatives, and donor support.

    The coordinator plays a crucial role in engaging donors to support the work of the SDRM in substantial and beneficial ways.

    Key Responsibilities


    Coordinate Donor Care Initiatives:
    Participate in research, outreach, and cultivation activities to engage donors and work to upgrade existing relationships.

    Create event and volunteer opportunities tailored to donor interests and capacities.

    Collaborate with the donor relations team to execute a comprehensive communication plan for unassigned major donors.

    Represent the mission at community events and conduct informative tours of facilities.

    Plan and implement weekly donor appreciation efforts, including gratitude calls and personalized thank-you notes.

    Manage the donor retention calendar in coordination with the Marketing department.

    Track all supporter engagement efforts via CRM to document efforts over time.

    Assist in the maximization of our CRM use for cultivation needs:

    Train and assist team members in effective CRM tools for enhanced donor engagement.

    Develop and maintain user guides and procedurals regarding CRM cultivation tools.

    Administer automated systems to ensure correct execution of communication plans.

    Create and manage email templates for team use within the CRM.

    Monitor team adherence to accurate tracking and updating of donor information and communication within the CRM.

    Provide administrative support to the development team:

    Track and reconcile monthly charges on the department credit card.

    Serve as Project Coordinator for large-scale internal mailings.

    Maintain updates to the tour manual utilized by the development team.

    Organize and manage development team supplies.

    Act as a member of the donor services team:

    Provide direct and responsive customer support when responding to calls and emails.

    Cross-train and support the team with financial processing as needed.

    Follow best practices to maintain the quality and security of our donor data.

    Support the Director of Donor Services with assigned projects as needed.

    Work Experience

    A minimum of 1 year of related professional work experience is ideal.

    Experience using customer or donor management software is ideal.

    The Ideal candidate would have:
    Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills;

    Ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-driven, collaborative, and high-needs environments;

    Be self-motivated and goal-oriented in meeting performance expectations;

    Take initiative and follow through on system improvement projects;

    Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor databases and records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
