    2 Experienced F/T Medical Benefits Specialists Needed to Work in Alsip, IL

    Our client, a growing Union Health & Welfare Fund located in the South Suburbs of Alsip, Illinois is currently looking to hire 2 experienced full-time Medical Benefits Specialists.

    You must have at least 2 years of recent and related work experience in one of the following fields union benefits, medical benefits, health insurance, medical claims processing or eligibility.

    These are both fully onsite full-time positions working Monday-Friday from (8:30am to 4:30pm) for a total of 35 hours per week.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Assist and educate participants as it relates to EITs suite of benefits in accordance with p lan provisions, deadlines, and documentation via phone and in person.
    • Collaborate with team members and all internal departments to resolve member issues.
    • Interact with external vendors, including IBEW Local 134, CorVel, BCBSIL, CVS Caremark, VSP and Wage Works.
    • Research and resolve moderate to complex member inquiries relating to benefit eligibility, claims processing, documentation, and payment information.
    • Review applications for benefits for accuracy and completeness and determine if eligibility requirements have been met.
    • Process payments for Disability and Supplemental Unemployment benefits.
    • Identify participants who have lost coverage, provide COBRA notices and process COBRA election forms and payments.
    • Verify, update, and maintain member and dependent demographic information.

    Job Requirements

    • 2+ years of related benefits or claims processing experience.
    • Exceptional interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills.
    • Must be detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task, & have excellent time management skills.
    • Understanding of fully insured and self-funded health plans.
    • Understanding of medical claims processing and CPT and ICD10 Codes is preferred.
    • Knowledge of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), COBRA, HIPAA compliance, & ERISA.
    • Some familiarity w/Taft-Hartley Plans & multi-employer benefit administration is a plus.
    • Microsoft Office Proficiency.
