Shelter Residential Aide - Richmond, VA

Job summary
This position is responsible for performing a wide variety of support functions to ensure the safety security comfort and wellbeing of Salvation Army emergency shelter clients Monitors building security performs light housekeeping duties to ensure orderly clean common areas maintains the daily shelter log.Key Responsibilities:
- Monitors the activities of shelter clients ensuring their safety comfort compliance with house rules.
- Supports inclement weather shelter operations to include preparing sleeping dining areas prior to shelter opening maintaining an orderly client check-in waiting line conducting the client intake process distributing items for clients personal use like blankets cleaning sleeping dining areas as needed throughout the shift.
- Regulates lights out curfew quiet hours for the safety comfort of shelter clients.
- Responds to emergencies in a calm manner initiates appropriate corrective actions in accordance with established policies procedures.
