    A DAY IN THE LIFE
    Our Senior Environmental Engineer position is located in Orlando, FL and will be On-site.

    As a key member of the team, this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:

    The Senior Environmental Engineer role will support multiple federal, municipal, and private clients related to environmental projects


    Key responsibilities include:

    project and program management, including planning and implementing investigation and remediation projects, budgeting and budget management, adherence to schedule, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability.

    As a key member of the Environmental Engineering and Consulting team, this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:

    Project and program management, including planning and implementing investigation and remediation projects, budgeting and budget management, adherence to schedule, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability
    Management and mentoring of junior staff and managing subcontractors
    Work plan development, data evaluation, and report writing and review including computations and analysis, feasibility studies, investigation/assessment reports, and risk-based studies
    Preparation of plans, specifications, and cost proposals and development of graphical presentations in a logical and professional manner.
    Preparing and leading meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties

    Supervision of field personnel performing multi-media environmental sampling, sediment sampling and characterization, drilling oversight, contractor oversight, and remediation system operations, maintenance, and construction.

    Planning and oversight of multiple projects simultaneously which may include serving as technical lead on a project, supervising other professionals, and relaying proper procedures to other team-members
    Responsible for estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of firm standards
    Responsible for project budget and hours and utilizes time effectively to complete tasks within assigned timeframe(s)

    Coordinates the day to day operations of technical staff assigned to projects by assigning, monitoring and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, directing efforts and providing technical guidance.

    Exercises judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria
    Acts as a client manager to understand customer needs and distributes work assignments and proposals to appropriate teams
    Communicates to leadership when potential issues are foreseen or potential issues arise that may inhibit performing tasks within the allotted schedule and budget
    Oversees project set up and authorization paperwork to include: project authorizations, contracts, subcontracts, purchase order requests, and project schedules

    Oversees project financial management duties to include: project projections, project invoicing, subcontractor invoice approvals, progress reporting, and project/subcontractor contract compliance.

    Exercise safe work practices by following all Company safety rules and OSHA regulations, including attendance at all required safety training programs
    Participate in the company's continuous improvement programs and provide support to team efforts
    Keep up-to-date and current on industry trends by completing formal training, reviewing professional publications, and attending professional workshops
    Maintain confidentiality at all times
    Perform other duties as assigned


    YOUR EXPERTISE AND SKILLS
    To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

    Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university, Advanced degree preferred
    10+ years of related experience
    Possess a Professional Engineer (PE) license or certification
    Advanced knowledge of assessment and remediation principles
    Knowledge of computer aided software (Microsoft Suite, AutoCAD, ArcGIS etc.)
    Ability to complete and maintain HAZWOPER certification with the 40-hour HAZWOPER environmental health and safety class, and annual 8-hour refresher class
    Proven leadership skills; identifies problems and actively devises appropriate solutions
    Strong written and verbal communication skills
    Outgoing / team player with strong problem solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
    Strong organizational and management skills
    Ability to work well with and mentor others, setting expectations and providing input and feedback in a helpful way that fosters accountability
    Ability to actively delegate and communicate in a group oriented setting, establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and leaders
