      Job Description:

      Mission:

      To survey, adjust, repair, install, modify, debug, and maintain control systems and electrical systems and equipment for production equipment and facilities.

      Principal Accountabilities:

      1. Instrumentation

      Objective: maintain, calibrate, design, install, and debug control systems for all machines and equipment.

      • Surveys plant equipment controls and instrumentation, calibrates, installs, debugs, and repairs as needed
      • Fabricates and installs thermocouples
      • Working knowledge of PLCs, computers, industrial control programs, and interfacing systems

        • 2. Electrical

        Objective: maintain, install, repair, and adjust electrical systems and equipment.

        • Troubleshoots electrical malfunctions
        • Installs and maintains control panels, motors, wiring, switches, etc.
        • Programs and troubleshoots controllers
        • Assists with mechanical repairs as needed

          • 3. Projects and Technical Assistance

          Objective: plan and design instrumentation/electrical projects and provide technical assistance

          • Plans and designs installations
          • Provides technical assistance for equipment selection
          • Assists with planning and technical issues

            • 4. Safety

            Objective: demonstrate safe work practices

            • Adheres to safety rules
            • Operates equipment safely
            • Identifies and reports safety concerns

              • 5. Other (Marginal) Accountabilities

              • Completes logs and records
              • Provides work direction and training
              • Performs other tasks as assigned
              • May join Hazardous Materials Spill Response team

                • Essential Equipment:

                • Electrical Test Equipment
                • Instrumentation test equipment
                • Pumps, motors, forklifts
                • Basic hand tools and more

                  • Training:

                  • Hazardous Materials Handling Training
                  • Forklift Driving Safety Certification
                  • State electrical licensing courses
                  • Hazardous Waste Training

                    • Qualifications:

                    • Advanced electrical and instrumentation skills
                    • Completion of apprenticeship program or electronics training
                    • Oregon State Manufacturing Journeyman Plant Electricians License
                    • Valid driver's license
                    • Ability to apply electrical codes
                    • Ability to read blueprints, follow specifications
                    • Mathematical and communication skills
                    • Physical ability to perform job functions

                      • Note: Respiratory protection may be required for certain tasks.

                      This position requires working with national security-controlled information under U.S. export control laws.
