    POSITION SUMMARY:


    The Senior Performance Improvement Advisor for the Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital is responsible for facilitating the identification, implementation, and ongoing measurement of multiple, complex projects under limited guidance, which improve the effectiveness and quality of health care.

    The senior advisor consistently applies improvement methodology coupled with change management strategies to projects to design new systems and processes well while re-engineering existing processes and systems to improve operations and safety and quality of care.


    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education:
    Bachelor's degree in business, clinical, or another relevant field is required. Master's degree in Health Administration or another relevant field is preferred.

    Licensure/Certification:
    Achieved Lean Six Sigma Green or higher with demonstrated experience in healthcare and or service industry application.

    Certificate in quality management or patient safety (CPHQ, ASQ certification, Six Sigma, IHI Lean Certification, or similar) desired.

    Relevant Experience:

    Minimum five (5) years of experience working in a operational environment in healthcare that must include Three (3) years of experience in supporting organizational change, Project Management, Change Management, Performance/Process Improvement.

    Consultant experience desired.


    Skills and Abilities:
    Analytical ability to identify and illustrate relationships among complex activities and matrixed leadership structures.

    Advanced in spreadsheet, database, presentation, and word processing software (Smartsheet, Tableau, PowerBi, Minitab is a plus).


    Ability to generate change through influence and relationships using frameworks (A3, Toyota Production System, Kaizen) to direct and accelerate organizational transformation.

    Provide workgroups, committees and taskforces with exceptional facilitation, educational and communication skills, both written and verbal.


    Use effective techniques to scope projects and link them to the organization's overall strategic plan and key work processes appropriately and efficiently.

    Work independently and intentionally to complete projects according to project timelines, achieving milestones and deliverables as per the plan.


    Use both creative and proven methods to work more effectively with colleagues, organize and lead improvement teams, and handle difficult conversations, coupled with strong consultative skills.

    Motivate, influence, and engage leaders, staff and physicians to adopt and execute process improvements.

    Strong Interpersonal Skills:

    The ideal candidate must demonstrate a high level of compassion and empathy in their daily interactions with clients/patients/team members.

    The ability to actively listen to understand and empathize with others' perspectives is essential to excel in the organization.
