    The Associate Director, Business Operations (Proposal Development) manages the timely production of accurate proposal budgets and strategy documents through liaison with other departments and colleagues. The Associate Director reports into the Vice President, Business Operations.

    Essential Functions:

    • Manages a team of proposal professionals and oversees their work-product.
    • Lead proposal development to prepare quality, timely budgets and proposals for complex studies or high-profile clients that support business and financial objectives.
    • Review proposal materials for risk and escalate any areas of concern.
    • Responsible for the day-to-day management of assigned RFIs/RFPs through the completion of a proposal, including the budget, best practices, and overall quality deliverables.
    • Participates in client discussions to develop RFI/RFP strategies and tactical execution plans.
    • Review proposal outputs for consistency, clarity, and compliance with client RFI/RFP requirements for proposal staff.
    • Train and adhere to SOPs.
    • May include line management responsibilities and other duties as assigned.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    Necessary Skills and Abilities:
    • Knowledge of computer systems including Microsoft Office products and very advanced Excel skills.
    • Experience with project management tools preferred.
    • Must have a strong work ethic and professional attitude.
    • Ability and willingness to work hands-on and independently.
    • Ability to multi-task, prioritize workload, learn quickly, and maintain sensitivity to confidential nature of projects.
    • Strong written, communication and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong organization and time management skills.
    • Functions effectively as part of a team and ability to demonstrate leadership qualities amongst peers.
    Educational Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting.
    Experience Requirements:
    • 5+ years of progressive experience in proposal and budget development at a contract research organization, or equivalent experience.
    • Knowledge and/or experience in Pharmacovigilance and Medical Information.
