- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, including mental status examinations and risk assessments, for patients in the emergency department.
- Formulate differential diagnoses and develop appropriate treatment plans in collaboration with the attending psychiatrist and interdisciplinary team.
- Provide crisis intervention, stabilization, and brief psychotherapy to patients experiencing acute psychiatric distress.
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, as clinically indicated, in accordance with hospital protocols and guidelines.
- Collaborate closely with emergency department staff, social workers, and community resources to ensure continuity of care and appropriate disposition for patients.
- Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Current certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
- Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Maryland.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in an emergency psychiatric setting preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills, with the ability to manage complex psychiatric cases independently.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and crisis intervention skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
