    SUMMARY
    Responsible for the daily maintenance of the various general ledgers. Assists in managing
    monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities.
    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

    • Complies with agency policies and procedures.
    • Perform monthly financial close activities including update and maintenance of the
    General Ledger, analysis of account variances and reporting of results to management.

    • Preparation of various monthly financial reports.
    • Ensure accuracy and reliability of general ledger/trail balance.
    • Coordinate and maintain monthly recurring and unusual or extraordinary journal entries.
    • Perform monthly analysis of general ledger account variances and reconcile changes.
    • Assists in month-end closing activities, including departmental expenses, accounts
    receivable, accounts payable and inventory.

    • Assist in fixed asset accounting, ensuring that capitalization/depreciation policies are
    followed and that assets are physically tracked in and out of the facility.

    • Prepare for and participate in internal and external audits.
    • Perform special projects and reporting as needed.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
    Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; one year
    experience in bookkeeping and cost accounting; or equivalent combination of education and
    experience. Working knowledge of a personal computer. Absolute integrity and sufficient
    maturity to handle the confidential aspects of the work.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS
    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports,
    and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers,
    regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and
    articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present
    information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
    Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and
    fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as
    fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

    REASONING ABILITY
    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to
    interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal
    with several abstract and concrete variables.
