    Overview:

    The Brendan Tripp Elam Transplant Center encompasses our pediatric heart, liver and kidney transplant services. And provides comprehensive treatment programs to manage disease and provide optimal outcomes for patients. Our multi-disciplinary teams follow patients and their families through their initial diagnosis through their transition to adult care. Our transplant coordinators are the primary contact for families and the liaison between the families and the providers.

    The Nurse Manager, in collaboration with nursing administration and the Transplant Center Program Manager manages clinical operations for the Transplant Center; including, personnel management, education and development of programs and services. The Manager provides family centered patient care that is based in scientific theory and is outcome focused. The Manager participates in department and hospital performance improvement activities.

    Responsibilities:
    • Collaborates with nursing administration and the Transplant Center Administrative Director in policy formulation and programmatic development and implementation including the delivery of safe patient clinical services and assessing adequate and appropriate staffing.
    • Serves as a role model, consultant change agent and facilitator in assessing the learning needs and in planning implementing and evaluating education activities for the Transplant Center Clinical staff and Children?s Mercy community
    • Participates and collaborates with Transplant Center Administrative Director and other Transplant Center staff to provide oversight with compliance of UNOS, TJC, CMS Conditions of Participation (CoPs)
    • Represents Children's Mercy Transplant Center in management and leadership functions.
    • Manages a team of 14 Transplant Coordinators
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree and 5-7 years of experience
      • Has experience in pediatric nursing, nurse case management (NCM), discharge planning, public or community health nursing or transplant nursing, previous leadership experience preferred
    • Master's Degree preferred and 5-7 years of experience

    • One of the following: Licensed RN - Kansas, Registered Nurse Multistate License Kansas required upon hire
    • One of the following: Licensed RN - MO, Registered Nurse Multistate License Missouri required upon hire
    • Refer to Nursing and Advanced Practice Provider Licensure and Certification policy for required Life Support Certifications Required Upon Hire
    Starting Pay:

    Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $43.33/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.

    Remote Work/Work from Home:

    This position is not eligible work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Childrens Mercy locations and may not work from home.
