    Job Description:

    PURPOSE OF JOB :
    To coordinate with and assist the Director with administrative, patient care and staff development activities. Under the guidance of the Director, provide leadership and expertise to nursing staff.


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

    Departmental Budget :

    As a member of Doylestown Health's leadership team who is responsible for budget, this position will adhere to the Health System's budget process to include planning, facilitating communication and coordination across the Doylestown Health System.

    As well as allocation of resources, controlling expenses and will be accountable for all budget variances. (15%)

    Associate Retention :
    As a member of Doylestown Health's leadership team, this position will act with integrity and emotional intelligence. The way a leader treats their Associates can have a profound impact on Associate's loyalty and retention. Leaders can positively impact Associate retention by creating a positive, empowering environment.

    (15%)Utilizes analytical and managerial skills to effectively coordinate patient care, evaluate unit operations, and implement all emergency operations as they relate to the unit in coordination with the Director.

    Utilizes expert knowledge of the nursing process and nursing care principles to ensure comprehensive and quality care of patients throughout the hospital, giving consideration to age-specific criteria and cultural differences in evaluating patient needs across the continuum of clinical care areas.

    Communicates effectively with Associates, Management Team, patients, physicians, family members and members of the community in order to achieve excellence in patient care.

    Is held accountable for patient safety, performance improvement, department specific quality improvements, and compliance with regulatory bodies and patient safety programs to include:

    Joint Commission, Department of Health, Leapfrog Safety Initiatives, Core Measures, Press Ganey results, identified patient safety issues and development of action plans to address these issues.

    Demonstrates clinical proficiency and maintains knowledge base of hospital policies in order to effectively represent unit and hospital management and to serve as a clinical resource and mentor to the staff.

    QUALIFICATIONS :

    Education:
    Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
    Current licensure in Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of State Bureau of Occupational and Professional Affairs.


    BSN required, MSN preferredExperience:

    • 5 years experience in area of specialty.
    Minimum two years management experience preferred.
    Certification preferred.

    Excellent communication skills required. Exceptional leadership and decision-making skills required. Ability to handle crisis situations calmly and effectively. Basic computer skills
