    The philosophy and beliefs of Southern California Permanente Medical Group are rooted in the founding principles of the Kaiser Permanente integrated managed care partnership established in 1945 between physicians and the Kaiser Foundation.

    And to further the legacy of our philosophy we are investing in the future:

    the Permanente Medical School – scheduled to open in 2019 – will train future generations of doctors to practice responsible, ethical, collaborative and fulfilling medicine.

    About the area

    Centrally located just southeast of downtown Los Angeles, the Downey service area is a hub both for quality housing and a range of activities.

    Staff members live in the immediate Downey area but also in Los Angeles, Hollywood, and Orange County, affording them all the fine dining, entertainment, and cultural opportunities that Southern California has to offer.
