Night-Shift Diagnostic Radiologist - Dallas, United States - UT Southwestern

    Default job background
    Part time
    Description

Opportunity available for a predominantly Night-Shift Diagnostic Radiologist at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, ranked the Number 1 Best Hospital in Dallas-Fort Worth. Candidate must have a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree or foreign equivalent, have completed a minimum of 1 year of fellowship training in any diagnostic subspecialty, and be ABR-certified/eligible. Eligibility for Texas medical licensure and its acquisition prior to the start of employment is required. Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience.

Divisional duties include interpreting a full range of diagnostic imaging studies and providing the best care possible to patients in consultation with referring physicians, and clinical expertise with radiograph interpretation, body CT imaging, and general ultrasound is expected. Availability to work evening shifts interpreting imaging exams at Parkland Health & Hospital System, a Level 1 trauma center, and its acute care hospital, is necessary.

Service locations include Parkland, and UT Southwestern's hospital and ambulatory clinics. State-of-the-art equipment is available at all locations. The PACs system is integrated with the EMR for easy review of relevant history by the interpreting radiologist. Standardized dictation templates are utilized for ease of decision support in up-to-date radiology interpretations and recommendations. Radiologist-led quality assurance programs ensure patients are safely and optimally imaged.

Ranked in the Top 10 U.S. places to live with the highest pay adjusted to cost of living, the Dallas-Fort Worth area is a richly diverse metropolitan region with affordable housing, a thriving culinary scene, world-renowned arts districts, major professional sports teams, trendy entertainment venues, and unparalleled shopping opportunities. With more than 200 cities, each with its own identity and culture, the region is served by two commercial airports, as well as major highway and mass-transit systems, enabling an average commute time of about 28 minutes. North Texas is also home to 45 colleges and universities, more than 60 hospitals, and 7.1 million residents who enjoy an unemployment rate that's below the national average, relatively low crime rates, high-quality school systems and extensive parks and recreation.

Consideration may be given to applicants seeking less than a full-time schedule.

This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes UT Southwestern to obtain criminal history record information.
