    We are looking for passionate educators to join our community who know how to support middle school students and are committed to teaching the whole child. The ideal history teacher engages in inquiry-based pedagogical approaches to teaching and learning while understanding differentiated instruction. We seek teachers who have the flexibility to teach any middle school history-level course, understand the importance of developing student research and writing skills, and value working in a highly collaborative teaching and learning environment. Candidates should be comfortable working with students with a range of academic capabilities and be open to their own continued professional growth.     Key Responsibilities:

    • Teach a course load of 4 sections of History 8 (United States History and Civics, Reconstruction to the present)
    • Serve as an advisor for 12-14 students annually and guide and support the Social-Emotional Learning program.
    • Work as a collaborative member of a grade-level and departmental team.
    • Participate in a weeklong, grade-level overnight trip annually
    • Engage in shared middle school responsibilities and duties, including our DaVinci activity periods, study halls, and student supervision. Requirements:
      • Bachelor's degree in history, history education, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
      • Minimum three years of relevant classroom teaching experience teaching middle school-aged students.
      • Minimum three years of relevant classroom teaching experience teaching middle school-aged students.
      • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, faculty, staff, administrators, and the community.
      • An understanding and demonstrated commitment to competency in diversity, equity, and inclusion.
