    Description

    Keystone Human Services has an exciting opportunity for a Corporate Accountant to support our international work and federal grants programs. This is a hybrid position, with requirement to be in the corporate office in Harrisburg, PA once a week.

    The Corporate Accountant is responsible for the management of finance functions performed within assigned area including managing recording of financial transactions functions, completing reconciliations and analyses. and identifying and communicating concerns to appropriate personnel.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to

    • Acts as lead accountant for Capital Area Head Start and Susquehanna Service Dogs

    • Records financial transactions and prepares monthly financial statements for review with management
    • Responsible for understanding a grant through its life-cycle, including pre-award, post-awards, budget preparation, creating management tools for compliance, financial reporting.
    • Prepare and assist with annual budgets
    • Act as a resource for staff in understanding financial matters.


    • Acts as lead accountant for the Keystone Partnership

    • Records financial transactions, prepares monthly financial statements for review with management, and ensures the financial numbers are reconciled to the Development Department's tracking


    • Prepares prepaid insurance entries for property, vehicles, etc.

    • Performs various reconciliations on individual entities balance sheets to include, but not limited to, prepaid's etc. and propose correcting entries as necessary

    • Assists in the annual audit preparation/coordination

    • Supports ongoing departmental improvements, including the improvement of processes and procedures and system upgrades

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business required OR Associate's degree with 8 -10 years' experience in Finance or Accounting.

    • A minimum of three years progressive experience in general ledger; not-for-profit or government contracting experience preferred.

    • Experience interpreting, analyzing, synthesizing, and reporting financial and non-financial information in an understandable form for end users.

    • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing and to be able to read, interpret and apply written information.

    • Ability to learn and apply intermediate computer skills, including the use of software and other web-based systems; Proficient with advanced techniques of financial spreadsheet functions.

    • Ability to pass required background checks and clearances.

    • Valid driver's license and, depending on work location, may be required to have daily access to privately maintained and insured vehicle.
