    About the role:

    At the headquarters in Kennesaw, Georgia, we have an opportunity for a Technical Writer Internship within our Information Technology Department. The IT department supports approximately 500 users at multiple office locations. This intern position will receive hands-on experience, team interaction, and ongoing support. The position will allow some hybrid scheduling to coincide with the scheduling of the department.

    Under immediate supervision, the intern will provide writing, updating, and editing of select documentation projects as assigned by the Instructional Technology and Technical Communication Manager. The intern will edit/enhance existing documentation; create new documents using templates and interactive design elements; edit and finalize documents for distribution; and gather information from subject matter experts, developers, and tech support staff.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Relying on instructions and pre-established guidelines, this role is responsible for accomplishing the following tasks as guided:
    • General Intern Duties.

      • Perform assigned project work.

      • Observe and interact with various professionals.

      • Attending staff and departmental meetings on an ongoing basis.

      • Complete, update, and distribute communications of various types.

      • Solicitate feedback from multiple project participants and following direction.

      • Assist with department responsibilities

      • Other assignments as needed and assigned
    Qualifications:
    • 60 completed college hours from an accredited college or university and an average grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher. Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor degree program applicable to Information Technology, CIS, or Computer Science

      • Possess and have ability to apply basic knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures

      • Good written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy

      • Good organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

      • Proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office Package (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word)

      • General knowledge of application development, QA process, Devops or Data Analytics

      • Hybrid work schedule - 3 days in the Kennesaw, GA office, 2 days remote
