This client is seeking a highly skilled Chief Accountant to join their San Diego office. As Chief Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations and ensuring compliance with regulations. Your expertise in financial concepts, tax, and accrual accounting will be essential in providing accurate financial reporting and analysis.

THE OPPORTUNITY The position reports directly to the president. Our client is a Fiduciary and handles a very niche role in the health insurance arena.

It will have a high degree of autonomy and authority to manage a team member and will be client facing as they need to be able to present, via TEAMS, to CEO's and HR Managers for their clients on a quarterly basis.

This position can offer growth into a CFO role with our client.


IDEAL CANDIDATE
The candidate sought will be an initiative-taking individual with a strong accounting background and excellent attention to detail.

They need to be able to speak clearly in English and if bilingual in French, Russian, or Spanish, it would be a plus.

HOURS:
Full-Time or Part-time can be accommodated. This is an Exempt Position, and our core office hours are Monday – Thursday 8 AM – 4:30 PM and Friday 8 AM- 2:30

WORKSITE:
This role is NOT Remote- it will be working out of their Mission Valley office


DURATION:
Direct Hire


PAY:
$75,000 - $95,000 per year, depending on experience.


BENEFITS:

Requirements:

10 or more years of accounting experience is required.
Proficiency in journal entries, accrual accounting, and financial report writing.
Accounting experience in health insurance, banking, or financial services industries is required. Candidates with accounting experience in self-funded health insurance is a plus.
4 year College degree is required.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check as this role requires candidates to be bonded.
CPA designation is a plus, but not required.
Ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders
Proficient dealing with Auditors
Knowledge of Windows based software applications and Intermediate to Advanced user of MS Excel
