Position Summary:
The General Manager is responsible for all aspects of their respective site.
This includes safety of their team members, quality of their materials, service to the customer, operational performance and financial results of the site, and morale of the team members.
Please note:
This position may report to Cochran or Macon GA
Essential Functions:
·
Responsible for the safety of all team members and collaborates with the Safety Manager.
This includes completion of training, active safety committee, and daily compliance to safety standards.
Understands and executes all safety policies and SOP's and holds team members accountable.
·
Responsible for the quality of the materials.
Ensures all documentation meets regulatory or customer requirements when applicable.
Ensures damage is tracked appropriately and corrective action is taken to reduce all damage.
·
Responsible for productivity of the site to ensure efficient and effective operations.
Ensures pre shift meetings occur and output goals are clearly communicated.
·
Responsible for the financial results of the site and collaborates with the Controller.
This includes managing spending, labor, and overtime to meet the budget goals.
Ensures inventories are accurate and losses are minimal.
·
Responsible for the morale of the site and collaborates with the respective HR Business Partner.
Manages turnover, retention, attendance, and overall culture of the site.
Understands and executes all HR policies and SOP's.
·
Ensures payroll is completed timely and accurately by the respective department and collaborates with the Payroll and Benefits Manager.
Ensures PTO requests are approved timely.
·
Utilizes the HUG program for all new hires, and assessments are completed at 1 day, 7 days, and 30 days after the start date.
Ensures 90 day and annual performance evaluations are completed timely for the hourly team members and partners with the department leaders regarding recommendations for wage increases.
Ensures the site completes 5S audits each month and follows up accordingly.

Ensures the site scorecard is completed each month and is prepared to review the results monthly with the Senior Leaders.
Responsible for the development of the department leaders and team members at their site.
Ensures Performance Management tools are utilized for the salary team members and reviews are completed twice per year.
·
Partners with the Finance and Business Development Team and Director to ensure customer pricing is correct.
Contributes data and information to support quotes for new business.
·
Partners with the Director of Maintenance regarding upkeep of their site, repairs on the equipment, and any special projects.
Has knowledge of all shutoffs for water, compressed air, electrical, and propane in the event of an emergency.
·
Performs other related duties as required.
Requirements:
·
Demonstrated leadership experience and superior management skills.
·
Customer centric attitude and understands the importance of a strong and positive relationship with the customer.
·
Experience in lean manufacturing and six sigma tools including 5S, Gemba walks, and TPM.
·
Ability to lead Root Cause Analysis process and utilize problem solving tools.
·
Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
·
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
·
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
·
Proficient in all Microsoft products including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Work Environment:
·
The employee is frequently exposed to moving machinery.
·
The job requires
lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling
up to 30 pounds as well as reaching, standing, sitting, and walking.
·
This job requires working in a non-temperature-controlled warehouse (indoor temperature fluctuates through each season).
·
This job may require working extended hours, Saturday, Sunday and Holidays, and other shifts and overtime as needed to meet customer requirements.
This job requires standing and walking for long periods of time and may perform tasks at heights.
·
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Education and Experience:
·
Bachelor's degree in operations, supply chain, or similar field required.
·
At least five years of experience in site leadership position in supply chain, logistics, warehouse, or manufacturing preferred.
