Position Summary


The Food and Beverage Manager is responsible for the daily leadership, management, and execution of front-of-house operations at Tiburon Peninsula Club. This role ensures exceptional service standards, operational excellence, and a welcoming, member-focused environment that reflects the Club's culture and values. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for overseeing service operations, staff performance, member engagement, and administrative functions. The Café Manager works closely with the Director of Food and Beverage to ensure operational efficiency, financial accountability, and continuous improvement of the member experience.

Duties and Responsibilities


Leadership & Staff Management

  • Lead, supervise and develop front of the house café staff.
  • Interview, hire, onboard, and train new team members in partnership with the Director of Food and Beverage.
  • Ensure staff adherence to Club policies, standards, and service expectations.
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and professional team culture.
  • Actively engage with the membership to learn member's names and preferences while building rapport.
  • Coach, mentor, and provide ongoing performance feedback.
  • Assist with member billing, payments and member inquiries.
  • Review timecards and audit payroll cycle for café staff bi-weekly payroll.
  • Create staff schedules based on business levels and labor goals.
  • Manage and oversee Café service operations.
  • Assist with managing and adhering to Café budget.

Member Experience & Service Excellence

  • Serve as a visible, approachable leader on the floor during service.
  • Build strong relationships with members and learn their names, preferences, and expectations.
  • Ensure consistent delivery of warm, professional, and attentive service.
  • Resolve member concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Uphold Tiburon Peninsula Club's service standards and hospitality culture.

Operations Management

  • Oversee daily Food and Beverage operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service execution.
  • Ensure proper opening and closing procedures are followed.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness of all Food and Beverage areas including but not limited to storage areas.
  • Coordinate service execution with kitchen leadership (e.g., 86 for the day, daily specials for FOH and BOH).
  • Serve as manager on duty as assigned.

Administrative & Financial Responsibilities

  • Review and approve staff timecards.
  • Assist with labor management to meet departmental goals.
  • Assist with Food and Beverage cost controls and operations efficiency.
  • Ensure accuracy of POS transactions, member billing, and payments.
  • Assist with inventory awareness and operational cost management.

Events and Club Engagement

  • Support Food and Beverage service during club events and catering functions.
  • Assist in executing club events and member programming.
  • Participate in club activities and support overall club operations.

Qualifications


Experience, Competencies and Education

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 3-5 years of leadership experience in a club or luxury environment preferred.
  • Proven leadership and team management experience.
  • Ability to work independently, have a strong work ethic, be proactive and able to handle multiple priorities/projects simultaneously.
  • Must be punctual, reliable and conscientious.
  • Strong service orientation and hospitality mindset.
  • Ability to lead in a fast-paced, member-focused environment.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Basic financial and labor cost understanding.
  • Basic computer skills, including MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Clubsoft Access a plus.

Language Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to perform all essential Food and Beverage floor leadership functions.

Schedule


Flexible schedule required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
