    POSITION DESCRIPTION

    TITLE:

    SEASONAL GROUNDSKEEPER SOFTBALL
    COMPLEX

    GENERAL DESCRIPTION
    This position is responsible for the general maintenance of grounds at the softball

    complex during peak season. This position may assist with groundskeeping duties in

    other depts based on needs of the city.

    PRIMARY

    DUTIES:

    This list represents the essential tasks performed by the position. Employees

    may be assigned additional duties by management as required.

    • Responsible for general maintenance of grounds including mowing outfields and
    walkways.

    • Dragging and grooming ball fields, edging sidewalks.
    • Watering the outfields and walkways.
    • Picking up trash and general cleanup after ball games or in preparation of games.
    • Assists with cleaning of facility bathrooms during peak hours.
    • Operates mowing equipment to accomplish grass mowing and tree cutting and other
    landscaping and maintenance activities on City property.

    • Performs preventive maintenance on equipment and tools; Service and do minor repairs
    to equipment, hand and power tools.

    • Knowledgeable of equipment and tools used in land maintenance.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Uses basic algebra involving variables and formulas and/or basic geometry involving plane and

    solid figures, circumferences, areas, and volumes and/or computing discounts and interest

    rates.


    COMMUNICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:
    Communications involves the ability to read, write,

    and speak.

    Reads routine sentences or instructions; writes routine sentences and completes routine work

    forms; speaks routine sentences using standard grammar.



    COMPLEXITY OF WORK:

    Complexity of Work addresses the analysis, initiative, ingenuity,

    creativity, and concentration required by the position and the presence of any unusual pressures.

    Performs semi-routine work following procedures, with occasional problems; requires normal

    attention for accurate results.


    IMPACT OF DECISIONS:
    Impact of Decisions refers to consequences such as damage to

    property, loss of data or property, exposure of the organization to legal liability, or injury or death

    to individuals.

    Makes decisions with minor impact - affects only those in immediate work area.


    EQUIPMENT U SAGE:
    Equipment Usage refers to inanimate objects such as substances,

    materials, machines, tools, equipment, work aids, or products. A thing is tangible and has shape,

    form, and other physical characteristics.

    Handles machines, tools, equipment, or work aids involving moderate latitude for judgment

    regarding attainment of standard or in selecting appropriate items. Equipment used may include

    a mower, weed eater, backhoe and other standard gardening equipment.


    SAFETY OF OTHERS:
    Safety of Others refers to the responsibility for other peoples safety,

    either inherent in the job or to assure the
