- Support audits and assessments of institutional and/or supplier quality programs to ensure compliance with applicable quality requirements. This can include travel.

- Ability to take responsibility and be accountable for actions and decision-making within their task assignment with some supervision.
- Provide input to reports, briefings and documentation for IQPA-IQ program coordinators, lead auditors, customers, and vendors.
- Researches, assembles, and/or evaluates information or data regarding industry practices or applicable regulatory changes affecting IQPA policies or programs.
- Serve as an auditor and peer mentor for auditors in training.
- Working knowledge and experience developing and tracking corrective actions to completion in a structured system
- Facilitates collaboration and coordination to solve complex quality assurance challenges using defined processes and tools.
- Assists with the communication and training of quality and performance assurance principles, policies, and tools.
- Prepare reports, briefings and documentation for IQPA-IQ program coordinators, lead auditors, customers, regulators and vendors. Contribute ideas and content to process improvement (procedures, training material, etc.).
- Experience with Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and Issues Management, supporting quality assessments, surveillances, and/or audits.

This position will be filled at either the QPA Specialist level 1 or 2, depending on the skills of the selected candidate. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if the candidate is hired at the higher level.

Minimum Job Requirements:
Quality Assurance Requirements:
Some working knowledge and experience of quality assurance requirements, policies, and procedures such as DOE O 414.1D, ASME NQA-1 2008/2009(a), flow down of requirements to customers, vendors and subcontractors.
Self-directed and Teamwork: Proven success working independently and in a team environment with some supervision.
Customer Service:
Experience utilizing strong written and verbal communication skills.
Decision Making:
Some experience supporting and/or making effective decisions and understanding risks related to technical issues.
Business Systems:
Experience with Microsoft 365 Office Suite.
Education/Experience at lower level:
This requires an Associate's Degree in a relevant field or combination of technical certification and 2 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
Education/Experience at higher level:
This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or combination of technical certification and 5 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.

Work Location:
The work location for this position is telework and is located in Los Alamos, New Mexico. Telework is defined as working from offsite but within 2hours ground commute of this location. Reporting onsite may be periodically necessary. All work locations are at the discretion of management and can change at any time with appropriate notice.
Position Commitment:
Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory.
