    is one of the largest human services providers in California that operates a variety of programs to serve the poor and strives to find permanent solutions to crisis situations by offering clients the tools and resources needed to achieve greater self-reliance and stability in their lives.

    Responsible for coordinating an Agency food pantry. Ensures sufficient quantities of nutritious food and good clothing available for those who qualify. Solicits donations for food and clothing; picks them up and dispenses them appropriately. Assures grant money is spent appropriately; keeps accurate purchase records. Distributes food from the food pantry; decides which food items will last and make numerous meals. Assigns, trains and evaluates volunteers for various tasks. Keeps statistics on all areas of the food pantry. Does casework on clients to make sure they qualify for assistance.


    Responsibilities:
    Ensures there is a good, nutritious combination of food and clothing available for those who qualify.
    Purchases food for the pantry.
    Solicits donations for food and clothing; picks them up and dispenses them appropriately.
    Assures grant money is spent appropriately; keeps accurate purchase records.
    Distributes food from the food pantry; decides on food items that will last and make numerous meals.
    Ensures all locations have the food items necessary for operation.
    Assigns volunteers to various tasks.
    Keeps statistics on all areas of the food pantry.
    Writes facts sheets.
    Takes appropriate steps to resolve any emergency needs.
    Does casework on clients to make sure they qualify for assistance.
    Performs related duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:
    Completion of high school or equivalent
    One to three years of related experience.
    Purchasing procedures.
    Charitable food program materials and requirements.
    Principles and practices of organization and administration.
    Applicable state and federal laws.
    Discern who qualifies for assistance.
    Communicate effectively in written and oral form.
    Develop and maintain effective working relationships.
    Use independent judgment and initiative.
    Display sensitivity, tact, and responsiveness in various situations and needs.
    Handle public contact and relations effectively.
    Maintain accurate and orderly records.
    Organize and direct several activities.
    Plan short-range activities.
    Analyze and resolve problems.
    Maintain high level of confidentiality.
