  • As DNR's Budget Director, you will be involved in budget planning, cost allocation model development and administration, analysis, and monitoring agency programs and initiatives.
  • The Budget Director will oversee and monitor DNR's $940 million biennial operating budget and $337 million biennial capital budget which include the management of five (5) trust management funds, twenty-five (25) dedicated funds, and other state, federal and private funds.
  • In addition, the Budget Director oversees the monitoring and projection of fund balances, reflecting the latest revenue forecasts, legislative actions, and spending projections.
  • The Budget Director coordinates the establishment and maintenance of the agency's financial account structure to ensure that DNR is sufficiently tracking fiscal details for internal and external reporting.
  • During legislative session, the Budget Director coordinates the agency's preparation of fiscal notes on proposed legislation.
  • The Budget Director has overall responsibility for recruitment/selection, performance management, and training/development for these employees.
  • In addition, the Budget Director ensures that agency staff at division and regional level are trained on state budgeting processes and DNR budget requirements, including providing consultative services to programs with the goal of achieving effective and uniform processes and data across all DNR programs.
