    About the Role

    We are supporting a global technology manufacturer in hiring a Manufacturing Engineer to join their optics product organization. In this role, you will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to guide new optical products from design validation through full‑scale production.

    Once products are released, you will serve as the technical owner, ensuring ongoing performance, driving improvements, and supporting long‑term product reliability.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Maintain ownership of product design integrity once the product moves from Beta into volume manufacturing, overseeing requirements, design documentation, and engineering change management.
    • Support product development activities by applying Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) principles.
    • Engage at the Alpha‑to‑Beta transition to confirm that designs are fully documented and have adequate performance margin for validation, reliability testing, yield optimization, and production ramp.
    • Work with Process Engineering to define and implement manufacturing controls and test strategies aligned with market and customer expectations.
    • Collaborate with production and supply chain teams to transfer new designs into robust, scalable manufacturing processes that meet industry standards.
    • Diagnose and resolve issues related to optoelectronic performance and material/process interactions.
    • Track engineering activities throughout the product lifecycle to ensure timely, cost‑effective delivery of new optical products.
    • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across NPD, quality, and yield.

    Required Experience & Skills

    • 5+ years of engineering experience in environments involving product development and manufacturing transition.
    • Strong understanding of product lifecycle management, including requirements creation, tracking, and documentation.
    • Solid technical background in:
    • Optoelectronic systems, optical components, and semiconductor devices.
    • Standard manufacturing and assembly processes (e.g., PCB fabrication, plating, solder mask, SMT, epoxy dispense/cure, wirebonding) and associated failure mechanisms.
    • Failure analysis and reliability testing methods such as optical/acoustic/electron microscopy, HTHH, thermal cycling, shock, and vibration tests.
    • Effective team collaborator able to influence across design, operations, and NPD teams, supporting both new product introductions and ongoing yield/quality improvements.
    • Excellent communication, organization, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
    • Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities with practical experience applying FMEA, SPC, DOE, and structured phase‑gate processes.
    • Experience working in cleanrooms and handling ESD‑sensitive components.
    • Working knowledge of mechanical drawings, GD&T, CTQs, and tolerance analysis.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in fast‑moving environments.

    Education

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline.
