    Position Overview

    The IT Project Manager (IT PM) is responsible for delivering integrated product solutions and support for actuarial modeling and prediction platforms. The IT PM partners across multiple teams to define and implement project management and agile process activities with guidance from leadership and the IT Scrum Master. The scope of this role focuses on the delivery of technology solutions that enable business value. The IT PM will be accountable for project planning, risk management, issue resolution, and stakeholder communications. In addition, the IT PM anticipates challenges and applies proven experience to develop innovative solutions that may affect a diverse set of departments, divisions, or geographies.

    Responsibilities
    • Manages project/team tasks and timelines with ability to work without direct supervision
    • Effectively applies leadership/ownership throughout solution development life cycle
    • Guide and coach the teams on leveraging PM/Agile practices and principles to deliver high quality products and services
    • Provide IT solution design, delivery, & support expertise in modern Cloud, Web, Data, and DevOps technologies
    • Lead customer planning sessions and drives requirements definition in close alignment with IT Scrum Master
    • Analyze requirements, develop technical specifications, and perform solution gap analysis via Agile/Kanban methodology
    • Evaluate and balance application change risk with business need for timely product enhancements
    • Efficiently design, deliver, and release operational enhancements to address performance, stability, monitoring capabilities
    • Develop & mature operational support knowledge base and playbook documentation to complement product solutions
    • Identify and rapidly resolve issues to enable operations.
    • Provide training guidance to team members and users as required.
    • Develop and maintain effective customer relationships to maintain credibility and trust
    • Partners with various stakeholders to define project scope and schedule
    • Adapts to changing process requirements and communicates impact of changing requirements to all affected stakeholders
    • Applies fit-for-purpose project management/agile process rigor and discipline to ensure successful project execution, effective stakeholder communication, and benefit realization
    • Coordinates weekly releases and regularly meets with teams to manage status, milestones, risks, and issues in an Agile SDLC
    • Ensure teams adhere to Agile values and principles and helps IT and business partners understand and comply to internal processes and practices
    • Ensures adherence to all compliance requirements and identifies/coordinates key resources across teams to complete compliance activities
    • Creates and manages project plans, roadmaps, resource allocations/needs, and assists leadership with budget related activities
    • Identifies assumptions, dependencies and constraints potentially impacting successful project execution and delivery of business objectives
    • Drives cross-functional decisions and provides consultation to leaders and key stakeholders based on business knowledge, domain expertise, and project management experience
    • Leads team to a high performing level by recognizing areas of strength and improvement and employing appropriate coaching and development techniques
    • Contributes to the advancement and improvement of Agile practices within the organization.
    • Facilitates and supports all scrum events: Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective.
    • Acts as a leader who coaches and supports Agile teams assigned to mainly Business as Usual (BAU) work and to a lesser degree, important department initiatives and applicable portions of corporate projects and initiatives.
    Requirements

    EDCUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    Required:

    • Bachelor s degree and 4-years of product or project development experience
    • 3-years of project development experience on an Agile Team or equivalent combination of education and work experience

    SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    Required:

    • Knowledge of an agile framework or method (i.e. Scrum, Kanban), and understanding of software development life cycle models as well as robust knowledge of traditional project management principles and practices
    • Demonstrated experience facilitating meetings at multiple organizational levels
    • Demonstrated ability to apply financial management principles to IT projects and manage IT release schedules
    • Outstanding communication, facilitation, negotiation, and coaching skills
    • Adept at refinement, story splitting, estimation, velocity, retrospection, and other Scrum techniques
    • Knowledge of agile frameworks or methods (e.g., Scrum, Kanban), and understanding of software development life cycle models as well as in-depth knowledge of traditional project management principles and practices
    • Proven ability to define and manage project management plans and roadmaps as well as Scrum techniques such as refinement, story splitting, estimation, velocity, and retrospection
    • Planning and problem solving with product management and delivery teams

    Technical Requirements:

    • Microsoft Office application experience (Excel, Word, Visio, Teams, SharePoint)
    • MS Project or equivalent project management tools
    • Requirements management tools (Jira, Azure Dev Ops, etc.)

    Preferred:

    • Insurance and/or reinsurance industry knowledge
    • Advanced knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
    • Industry Certifications in Project Management (PMP), ITIL, or Agile Framework
