    Summary:


    This position will be responsible for maintaining proper inventory levels at the plant while managing levels to meet corporate goals.

    The buyer will be responsible for managing the steel or resin product category.


    Requirements:

    • Bachelors degree, preferably emphasis in Supply Chain
    • 3-5 years inventory or supply chain experience
    • Previous inventory planning/buying
    • Knowledge of the steel or resin industry helpful
    • Advanced Excel
    • Strong sense of urgency and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Ability to work with a team

    Highly Preferred:

    • Microsoft Dynamics AX experience
    • Experience with steel or resin commodities
    • Supplier Relationship Management

    Essential Functions:
    Inventory Control Analyst works in the supply chain business, buying commodities for use in manufacturing or production


    Responsibilities will be:

    • Creating connections with suppliers
    • Negotiating contracts
    • Locating new commodity sources and implementing innovative techniques to improve delivery efficiency
    • Work through close collaboration, lead and participate in cross-functional teams to build effective commodity strategies, relationship management, change management, and communication strategies
    • Deliver the lowest total cost of ownership by managing commodity spending and delivering targeted annual savings through cost reductions, cost avoidances, and operational improvements, all while measuring and reporting monthly KPIs
    • Conduct global supplier negotiations, contract execution, business evaluations, supplier scorecards, supply risk management, and other supplier management responsibilities
    • Evaluate market circumstances, identify best practices and emerging trends in the sector, and create new value creation opportunities through strategic planning.
    • Develop, cultivate, and maintain relationships with important suppliers' counterparts
    • Collaborate with plant to ensure proper inventory targets are met.
    • Work with Category Manager and plant to determine forecast by product groups.
    • Be actively involved monthly S&OP meetings
    • Work with plant and supply base to define capacity planning and prioritize purchase order production
