    The Electrical Engineering team is hiring.

    The successful candidates will be responsible to complete development, specification, arrangement, manufacturing, installation, testing, and support of Electrical Power, Lighting and Controls systems installed shipboard or in support of shipboard system operation.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    Develop ship power and controls systems through tasks and projects involving engineers across disciplines, subcontractors, or the customer.
    Perform reliability/risk assessments on designs, methodologies, or processes.

    Perform systems engineering, system integration, or project related tasks including requirements analyses, requirements decomposition, developing and evaluating operational requirements, developing software requirements, resolution of requirements conflicts, specification development, and management of budget and schedule.

    Perform modeling, simulation, and calculations to validate designs and ensure they meet project/customer requirements.
    Develop/maintain and provide technical leadership for all assigned systems, diagrams, calculations, purchase specifications, and related tasking.

    Review/Approve vendor equipment and other engineering documentation such as drawings, manuals, software, models, or other design documents produced as a part of external vendor contracts.

    Support vendor qualification testing and test approval.

    Interface with Navy and other customers, Construction Trades, Procurement, Quality Assurance, Fleet Service Engineering, Planning Yard, Equipment vendors, and Design teams through appropriate correspondence to support manufacturing, test, commissioning efforts, dock trials, sea trials, and resolve technical issues with assigned systems/tasking.

    Complete technical reports and conduct verbal presentations as required.
    Develop and manage process improvements and cost-out initiatives to improve group performance.
    Support development of scopes of work in support of contract proposals.

    Work with engineering development team and management to design, build, improve, and deploy software tools that support business needs as required.

    Develop supporting documentation, procedures, tests, or training materials.

    Required/Preferred Education/Training

    BS in Electrical, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Computer Engineering, or Equivalent degree is required.

    Required/Preferred Experience

    Engineer I - 0-1 years of experience preferred
    Engineer II - 1-3 years of experience required
    Engineer III - 3-5 years of experience required
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills; adept at giving technical presentations at group meetings.
    Ability to lead, organize, plan, and execute projects.
    Demonstrated ability to work in a positive team environment.
    Demonstrated ability to work multiple priorities simultaneously, and to completion.
    Strong Project Management skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Project is preferred.
    Highly motivated, strong attention to detail with proven ability to work independently.
    Some travel required.
    Operation of Microsoft Windows, Windows Software, and Microsoft Office products.
    CAD skills are preferred.

    A broad knowledge of, and experience with, a variety of computer systems, networking, technologies, troubleshooting is preferred, including network communication and protocols and data collection.

    Experience working on power systems and power system troubleshooting and testing is preferred.
    Experience with electrical software, calculations, and modeling is preferred.
    Software development skills are preferred.
    Data architecture and data management skills including database design and development are preferred.
    Lean Six Sigma training and/or experience is preferred.
    This position requires you to be able to obtain a government security clearance.

    You must be a US Citizen for consideration and you must be able to obtain an interim security clearance within the first 45 days of hire.
