    Join our Team at the Grand Opening of the New Adobe Clubhouse at the Arizona Biltmore Golf Club

    We are gearing up for our grand opening (with training starting the second week of April and an estimated opening date in early May) and looking for enthusiastic and service-oriented individuals to join our team. Located in Central Phoenix, the Adobe Clubhouse at the Arizona Biltmore Golf Club will offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a welcoming golf club atmosphere. We want our members and guests to receive an unforgettable dining experience. In addition to our Restaurant and Market, we will be hosting a variety of banquets and events in creating memorable experiences.
    Job Summary

    Under general supervision the Lead Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality dishes that delight our guests. Working together, the culinary team executes menu items efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, presentation and cleaning. The goal is to ensure the food provided by the Adobe Clubhouse is top-notch. Individual oversees the heart-of-the-house staff and makes sure that the restaurant runs smoothly through each service in partnership with the front-of-the-house..

    Duties and Responsibilities

    The duties and responsibilities listed below are essential to the employee's position.

    Operational:
    • Prepare ingredients, including cutting, chopping, and marinating, as well as following recipes to cook dishes accurate and efficiently.
    • Grill, saut, bake, fry or cook menu items to order, ensuring that all dishes are cooked to perfection and meet the Adobe Clubhouse's standards for taste and presentations.
    • Monitor food quality throughout the cooking process.
    • Have a thorough understanding of the food and beverage outlets menus, including ingredients, cooking techniques, and allergen information, in order to accurately answer guest questions and make recommendations.
    • Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, communicate with management to ensure necessary items are ordered in a timely manner, and minimize waste through proper portioning and storage practices.
    • Keep a clean, sanitary, prepared and organized workspace throughout the entire shift including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, refrigeration equipment and other equipment and areas.
    • Take out trash when needed.
    Other:
    • May be scheduled to work at banquet events.
    • Participates in pre-shift meetings, taste tests, and training.
    • Wash dishes and pots, operating dish washing equipment, and distribute and store clean dishes and pots.
    • Conform with all safety standards and use of all appropriate safety equipment.
    • Follow good personal hygiene guidelines.
    • Performs other duties, as assigned.
    Qualifications

    Education and Experience Required
    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
    • Culinary degree or certification from a recognized culinary school is preferred but not required.
    • Minimum two year's cooking (line and/or prep) experience in a full-service restaurant.
    • Previous lead or working supervisory experience required.
    Skills and Abilities
    • Knowledge of cooking techniques, culinary terminology, and food safety standards.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and prioritize tasks under pressure.
    • Strong attention to detail and a passion for creating delicious and visually appealing dishes.
    • Strong attention to detail and time management skills
    • Strong teamwork and collaboration: Ability to collaborate with kitchen staff and other restaurant staff
    • Strong communication skills including effective listening.
    • Highly organized to manage multiple orders
    • Flexible and adaptable to changes in workflow, menu items, staff, etc.
    • Ability to remain calm during peak hours or challenging guests.
    • Demonstrated working knowledge of food cooking regulations.
    Computer Skills

    Required:
    • Ability to use Point of Sale (POS) System
    • Ability to use employee self-service on company's human resources/payroll database
    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

    Required: Position may utilize golf carts; thus, must have a valid driver's license.

    Unexpired Arizona food certifications. Must be at least 19 years of age.

    Other
    Regular attendance is required. Additional hours including weekends may be required on a regular basis to fulfill duties of position. At times, an individual must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple, competing tasks and demands and to seek supervisory assistance as appropriate.

The work environment is subject to interruptions, varying and unpredictable situations and time pressures related to multiple tasks. It also requires regular use of a point-of-sale terminal. There is extensive repetitive motion in using hands/wrists.

    Work Environment

    This position primarily works both indoors and outdoors. At times, extreme temperatures may be part of the environment.

    Work requires exposure to temperatures sufficiently high to cause bodily discomfort. The noise level is usually moderate.

    Schedules vary and may include weekends, holidays, etc. as determined by business needs.

    Category I: Position engages in activities that with a high risk of coming into direct contact with blood and body fluids for which specific precautions must be taken. This position has been identified as Category I as it is most likely to attend to kitchen burns, accidents, or injuries.
