- This position will work with the engineering and test team and be specifically focused on automation of our firmware regression and manufacturing testers.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality test automation solutions.
- Design and develop testers for power electronic embedded systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, firmware engineers, software engineers and system architects, to define test requirements and test system interfaces.
- Assist with implementing a DFT strategy for all of Sol-Ark's end-to-end solutions.
- Assist with implementing and maintaining all test automation portions of CI/CD pipelines for all projects.
- Participate in the full product development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and documentation.
- Participate in FMEAs, code reviews and other quality improvement initiatives.
- Help develop, automate, and maintain various quality metrics for the company's products.
- Debug and troubleshoot software and hardware integration issues, utilizing appropriate tools and techniques.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies related to test automation and test improvement.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and provide technical support when needed.
- Assist with maintaining documentation for test designs, development processes, and project deliverables.
- Bachelor's in Computer Engineering or Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a closely related field from an accredited US University.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- At least 2 years of experience in embedded development or test.
- Experience in programming languages like LabVIEW, TestStand, or Python.
- Experience designing or maintaining production testers (bed of nails and end of line testers).
- Experience automating builds and tests with software development tools (compilers, debuggers, IDEs, etc.).
- Solid understanding of real-time operating systems, embedded systems architectures, and software/hardware integration.
- Experience with database access and using databases for end-to-end testing.
- Experience with low-level device drivers, peripheral interfaces, and communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, etc.).
- Proficiency in debugging and troubleshooting embedded systems using hardware and software debugging tools.
- Familiarity with software configuration management tools and version control systems.
- Knowledge of power electronics and control algorithms.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Perl, etc.) for automation and testing purposes.
- Experience in testing software for real-time control applications.
- Experience in testing UI/UX software.
- Experience with API testing.
- Experience in database testing.
- Experience with board layout.
- Familiarity with software development methodologies, such as Agile or Scrum.
- Experience with CAD tools for design review.
- Familiarity with at least one of the following cloud environments: AWS, Azure, GCP.
